Golden duranta villas

Who We Are

Diani, severally voted the best beach in Africa has always held a special place in the hearts of Mr. and Mrs. Kamau who were attracted to the town’s peace and tranquility after their retirement from busy careers in Nairobi city.

In 2006 they built a house by the beach, but quickly realized it was too small for their ever growing family. They sold this house and bought a parcel of land in 2011, and thus the construction of Golden Duranta Villas had began.

The homely villas were initially designed as vacation homes for their family, who in turn invited their friends, and in a short while, the Kamaus found themselves hosting guests from all over the world.

Their Daughter Judy, a world traveller and environmental enthusiast, later joined the team and brought with her a vast business experience that perfectly complemented the passion and attention to detail of her parents.

Golden Duranta is based on an environmentally friendly business model, harnessing solar power for external lighting and water heating. The once barren compound is now a refreshing, green oasis of assorted indigenous tropical plants and flowers.

As a socially conscious business, Golden Duranta supports the communities around it. From its construction and maintenance process, to its staff and suppliers. Seafood is sourced fresh from local fishermen and vegetables grown locally.
